In the Covid-19 pandemic where physical interactions have to be minimised, the need for digitalisation has become even more critical.
“Companies should not hesitate [to digitalise]; it pays to take advantage of the incentives to develop digital talent and skill up to create new business models,” says Mr Tan Chi Siong.
He is chief of the Master of Technology in Digital Leadership (MTech DL) programme offered by the National University of Singapore’s Institute of Systems Science (NUS-ISS), as well as its deputy chief of digital strategy and leadership practice.
The programme he leads has a strong focus on digital strategy and leadership. This enables participants to acquire new skills in a practice-based learning environment and harness the opportunities in the digital economy, he says.
The strength of the MTech DL is that it is strongly synced to industry needs, Smart Nation initiatives, and digitalisation trends such as Industry 4.0 through industry engagement and regular updates to course content.
It also has a distinctive Leaders In-Conversation feature where invited industry practitioners share their experience and thought leadership. Teaching adjuncts, too, are those with deep industry experience.
Another advantage of the MTech DL is that it is the first locally conferred digital leadership master’s programme by NUS, which is regarded as among the best in Asia and also globally. It ranks competitively in aspects such as affordability, employment outlook and the overall value of the university experience.
The MTech DL is a part-time through-train course that takes two years. But the modular courses offered in this programme are also available via a new Stackable Programmes pathway.
Under this pathway, candidates have the flexibility to read individual courses and obtain independent professional certifications, and can go on to pursue the master’s degree.
This option to matriculate to the master’s programme is available for five years from the completion of the first professional certificate.
Registration is now open for the January 2021 intake of the through-train MTech DL programme. Visit nus.edu/37RQLdV for more details.
Applications for the Stackable Programmes are open year-round, based on availability. Visit nus.edu/31thXyn for more information.
